My masks are reusable, washable, full coverage, reversible and comfortable...designed for long term wear. Each mask consists of:
- 3 layers: 2 layers of cotton fabric (may vary from picture) and one layer of filter material.
- The filter fits in the pocket between the two cotton layers and is removable and also can be replaced.
- The mask is secured with soft elastic around the ears, so there is no ear irritation or mask slipping. The mask may also be secured around your entire head with extended elastic.
- Lining may be black, white or a coordinating color with color-coordinating stitching detail
- The fit is easily adjusted to suit your unique face shape.
These masks should be gently hand-washed and air dried. Remember to remove the filter before laundering. All masks were created in a smoke free and pet free environment.
These masks are good for travel, crowds, smog, second-hand smoke, dust, other irritants and allergens.
Your cotton mask should be hand-washed in warm water with mild soap after every outing. If for any reason you cannot do so, store the mask in a paper bag. Paper bags are breathable and allow for the mask to be stored away from other items while bacteria has time to die off naturally. Removing the filter while storing your mask in the bag is an option.
About POLY filters:
The material used to make POLY filters have similar characteristics to N95 masks.
Properties of POLY filters:
POLY filters are made of non-porous polypropylene
Like other synthetic fibers – nylon, acrylic and polyester – polypropylene fibers are not attacked by bacteria or micro-organisms; they are also moth-proof and rot-proof and are inherently resistant to the growth of mildew and mold.
Recyclable and ecologically friendly.
Because of their extremely low water absorption, polypropylene fibers resist water-borne stains better than any other fibers. And since the fiber does not accumulate static though friction during use, it does not attract as much dirt or dust as other man-made fibers.
About reusing POLY Filters: POLY (polypropylene) Fabric is reusable and washable. If you plan to reuse a POLY Filter follow these guidelines:
Wash your hands before and after putting in the filter or adjusting it. Or use hand sanitizer if you can’t wash your hands.
Avoid touching inside of your mask unless your hands are sanitized.
Remove your filter from your mask before washing the filter.
Wipe down or wash your filter with mild detergent (soap) and rinse clean in cold/ warm water.
When not using the filter, store in a breathable bag. Paper bags work for this.
Filters may be reused and typically last though 30+ washes.
Filters may be replaced at the user's discretion.
